Faulty Receptors and Flatulence.

I woke up this morning and I smelled Kory cooking something. Being half asleep I thought, "Mmm, Kory's baking cookies. They sure smell salty though." And then I fell back asleep. Kory came in later saying, "Amy, wake up!" "Whyyyyy?" And then I saw him holding a big plate of yummy potatoes. He made me breakfast, but it sure wasn't cookies! I told him I thought he was baking cookies, and he assured me that he hadn't.

While I was taking a shower I kept thinking to myself, "I bet when I go back into my room that there will be a plate of cookies sitting on my bed." Well, when I got back in my room there were definitely not any cookies waiting to surprise me. I told Kory about this on the way to church and he thought it was hilarious.

I have no idea why I thought I smelled cookies. And I really don't know why I would say something smells salty. I can't believe my senses would fail me. And I seriously have some very active and accurate olfactory receptors! I swear I can smell every time that Kory farts. He could have farted upstairs and I would be able to smell it downstairs. It's hilarious, because I'm always asking if he farted and he always has some ridiculous answer like, "Yeah, but it was outside of the car!" Or "Yeah, but it was five minutes ago and I really didn't mean to. I can't help it!" Honestly, I ask him this at least once a day, not because I care if he farts, but because I think his answers are hilarious. And, no, Kory does not just have overly obnoxious smelling farts!

A Present For Me!

My new Queen Bee bag. After grocery shopping today, I pulled into the apartment parking lot and as usual I was blabbing away about something to Kory. I looked up at my screen door and saw that it was open a little bit and I was thinking "Why is my door open?" but my mouth was still talking to Kory about something. I put the car in park, looked over at Kory and he was practically out of the car already. I then realized that there was a PACKAGE in the door for ME, and that is why Kory bolted out of the car while I was still talking to him! I ran out of the car, not even caring about the groceries and wrestled Kory to the ground for my present (not really, someone had to unlock the door, and we know Kory never has his keys to do that.) So anyway, the package was for me, and it was a bag from Queen Bee! I do think it's the best bag in the world. All handmade and not another exactly like it! It's the perfect size for my (now matching) wallet, camera, phone, and whatever else I want to put in it! I love it, love it, love it.

Digital Update

Here are a few digital photos of two of my rabbits, Nishi and Koichi. I don't have many good photos of them because they never sit still, but today I managed to get some in focus during clean out time.

I'm Alive!

The past two weeks have been two of the worst weeks I've had in a while. They've left me completely worn out and hoping that the coming week will somehow be better. I'm actually typing with my head resting on my knee, not even looking at the screen. Ugh.

I stayed after work an extra two hours tonight, which I didn't really mind. I just hate getting home so late. I might as well be blind in the dark, I can't see anything anyway. Especially since one of my headlights is out. It's not burnt out or anything, it just has bad connections or something. Also, the cd player in my car isn't working right for some reason. If I actually wanted to hear it over the deafening sound of my car I would have to turn the volume up all the way, so I just listened to the radio. For the first time ever, I heard a song requested to someone I know. It made me really happy for some reason, I think because it was dedicated to a co-worker and his wife, who just had a baby. It was nice.

I Can't Believe It.

I am in the wrong probability and statistics class. I SIGNED UP FOR THE WRONG CLASS!

How could this possibly happen!? By the wrong class I mean that I am in a statistics class, but not the one that is required for my major. UGH. Might I remind you that it's also going to be the fourth week of school on Monday. Pretty late to be transferring to a new class. I e-mailed my "advisor" and he told me that the class I'm currently in can't be substituted, and that I need to talk to the math department ASAP. The math department told me I need to talk to the instructor of the class I need, and if he will let me in the class he has to sign some paper I have to write up, and then I have to go to the College of Arts and Science and have them put me in. What a pain.

Luckily Leigh noticed that I had the "wrong book" otherwise I would have never known I was in the wrong class. I would have gone to graduate and they'd be like, "You never took statistics dumb girl!" I like Leigh. She's the only person at Kent that I actually have something in common with. She's also the only person who had a better bug collection than me! We talked about how it doesn't make any sense that this "wrong class" isn't required for a biology degree. It's all about analyzing data collected from research. Every question in the book has real data from real medical, ecological, etc research. Dumb.

Aside from having signed up for the wrong class, there are two bad things about this. One, I really like the class I'm in now, and I also like the teacher. Second, the new class is on Monday and Wednesday night. Yuck!

Yesterday's Wake Up Call.

Somebody called me at 6 in the morning yesterday. This is how our conversation went:

Him: You got me pregnant!

Me: What?

And then he hung up. I have no idea who this person was, their number was restricted. Why a MAN would be calling anyone at 6 in the morning and screaming "You got me pregnant!" is beyond me. I was pretty angry that he woke me up an hour early though.
