Tiny's In Town!

Tiny.

We went and picked up Brooke's pup, Tiny, down in Cambridge today. She's gorgeous, sweet, and tiny! She's a little bit interested in cats, but Christine is going to work on that.

I'm exhausted. Amy, Andy, Kory, and I leave for Toronto tomorrow night. So I still have to get everything ready for that. Wash clothes, pack, gather up all the dogs' junk, make sure all the non-dog animals have plenty of food of water. All that kind of stuff. Tomorrow we have to take Brooke and Atrayou to Kory's parents' house, take Chompsky over to June's house, hopefully have Karrie cut my hair, and finish whatever I can't finish tonight. It's going to be a long day, a long weekend, and then back to work on Monday.

Rose's Rescue Update.

I've been wanting to make a new site for Rose's Rescue for a while, and I finally sat down the other night and actually got it finished. It's okay I think, but Christine seemed to love it, and that's all that really matters to me. So here it is.

We've also been trying to figure out how to update the adoption application for a long time, and today I found a place on my host's site that will build forms. It's way too confusing to work in their little template builder (and it also puts in a ton of code that doesn't need to be there), so I just made a simple one that I'm going to expand on in HomeSite. Yay! I know Christine has been wanting to change the application for a long time. When I showed her the page I made she said, "So you can update the applications now too?!" Of course I couldn't, but luckily I found that thing today. With the way the application is set up now, sometimes it's hard to understand the applications when they're submitted. For some reason there are like three questions that all have the same input name, so you end up getting three answers in the same field, and you have to go back and look at exactly what the questions were to figure out what people are talking about. And a lot people complain about not having enough space to explain themselves, which I'm sure can be annoying. And also, there really isn't anywhere on there to apply for adopting a cat, it just says dog! Well, soon there will be no more of that! The other big part of redoing the application is actually rewriting it, luckily Christine will be working on that part!

A Big Thumbs Down For Summer.

This heat is brutal. We only have air conditioning upstairs, so trying to spend any time downstairs is nearly impossible. Amy and Andy - if you're reading this, we might have to spend Tuesday upstairs because the downstairs is indeed sweltering. Almost every room downstairs has a ceiling fan, but they don't really help. It makes me want to do nothing but hide upstairs, which isn't really helpful when there are a million chores to do downstairs. I don't know how we survived last summer, we rarely ever used the air.

News Flash!

Kory Dakin has posted something on the internet! He has started a Flickr account! Well, he actually has had one for a while, but he never posted any photos. Some of my favorites (judged mostly by title):

P.S. - It caused me great pain to post those links without capital letters, but in respect to the artist, I had to.

Digital Update.

Here are some photos from Triangle Lake Bog. It's beautiful right now and there are so many animals out and about. Tons of insects, frogs, birds, and even some mammals. We even saw two chipmunks mating! If you live in the area, I highly recommend taking a visit. There are also some more Triangle Lake Bog photos from last fall here.

Look Who's Coming!

PB's Poor Baby. It's one of Brooke's beautiful pups! PB's Poor Baby, call name Tiny. She's only two years old and has never raced before. But look at those muscles! And her cute lopsided ears! Too cute, any pup of Brooke's has to be awesome!

I mentioned before that there weren't any hauls coming this way, and that's why we got Chompsky instead. But there are two awesome women who are offering to bring Tiny along with them from Kansas as they're passing through Ohio. So I'm not sure exactly what day she's coming, but it's definitely this month. I'm going down near Columbus to pick her up, and I think Christine is going to foster her.
