I Failed!

Cecil

Apparently Cecil Bug pulled out all but two of his stitches this morning (or last night), even though he had his muzzle on the whole time. So Amy is taking Kory and Bug up to the vet this afternoon. It looks like he's going to have to wear an e-collar even at night now. And he'll probably have to go outside by himself, so his wound doesn't get hit while the dogs are racing each other around the yard.

Bug Leg

Poor Cecil Bug had a histiocytoma removed from his leg on Friday, so now he has to wear this horrible e-collar. The incision they made is pretty big, about 3 - 4 inches long, and it seems like there aren't enough stitches in it. Not that I know anything about stitches, but 7 or 8 stitches in an incision that big doesn't seem like enough.

Cecil has enough problems walking around without bumping into things (clumsy!) without the collar on, and now it's 100 times worse! He does seem to be getting used to wearing it though, which is good. He gets his stitches out in 2 weeks, so my goal is to not let him lick it or pull any stitches out - we've had to deal with that with Brooke and it is not fun.

P.S. - I only look at this site on two monitors, home and work. I edit all my photos at home, and when I go to work and look at them, they all look really dark. So I'm sorry if my photos are too dark, I'm still not sure which monitor needs to be adjusted.

Beware!

Kory might be getting his license again. This is like....a whole new chapter in our lives! Part of me is really happy that I won't have to be the one driving everywhere, and part of me is not so happy because now I'll have to worry about Kory getting tickets and getting into accidents. It's definitely going to be odd though. We've never both had our license at the same time. And I'm not so sure that I'm willing to share my car either. Notice how I refer to it as "my car". Kory insists that he only wants his license so he doesn't have to hear me complain about driving when we're going somewhere together, so we'll see.

Also, Kory can't use my car to take his test because my passenger side mirror is missing. I just got a message from Amy that said, "Amy, I'm scared. Kory just asked to borrow our car...." So Kory might get to take his test in a sweeeet white Volvo named Virgil.

Cutest Ever!

Chomps

Amy, being the wonderful person that she is, updated Chomper's description on his petfinder page the other day for me. Poor Chompers is never going to get adopted. (Not because of Amy's description! Because he's so scared around strangers.)

Happy Cecil.

Prison Pups!

The rescue has been participating in the prison dog program, which is awesome! The first group of dogs just graduated this past week, and a new group of dogs has already been sent away. Christine said that she's going to put some greyhounds in the next time.

Anyway, here is an article about the rescue and the program in our local newspaper.

Poor Cecil.

This is Cecil rubbing his eye. He does this a lot because of his allergies. Sometimes he'll come lean up against me to help stabilize himself while he lifts his paw to rub, it's pretty sad.

Our New Floor!

Kory and his dad put laminate in our living room this past week, and I absolutely love it. Before there was this disgusting brown shag carpet in there. The dogs track in a lot of dirt, and the carpet was just not working out. You might notice that T isn't in this photo, that's because he's really scared of walking on hard shiny floors. He's slowly making progress though. As long as we block him from going in the other living room, he'll go over and sleep on the red bed that is empty in the photo.
