July 2008 Archives
How have you been? I'm alright I guess, things are crazy and stressful like usual. This is the first night in a while that I haven't been able to get to sleep.
I went and dropped my PC off at my dad's house today, hopefully he'll be able to fix it. It's so old though, I wish I could just get a new one. He and Carol adopted a black lab not too long ago, so I got to meet him. His name is Harvey and he's cute and seemed like a really good dog. He has a huge head though, but I'm probably just used to tiny greyhound heads. Greyhound = brontosaurus.
I didn't really do much else. I went to Trader Joe's and Pet Supplies and got caught in a crazy downpour. I stood outside Pet Supplies for a while trying to decide whether I should wait or make a run for it. I decided to make a run for it and got completely drenched. I was seriously walking through a few inches of water in the parking lot. I hate rain.
The rest of the night I just cleaned and waited for a call from you know who that never came. Oh! I gave Mouse a bath. Watching me lift Mouse into the tub by myself is probably hilarious. It only took me two tries this time though. We don't have a removable shower head thingy here, so I have to do it old-fashioned style with a billion cupfuls of water. I've read a lot about greys falling down while getting bathed, especially if the water is too hot. Well, today is the first day I experienced it. About half way into the bath, Mouse just collapsed. She quickly got back up though and seemed pretty unphased. It was weird.
If you ever need a good laugh, let me know. There's this picture on the board of a flier someone put on a telephone pole. It says, "CAT FOUND!!!" and below it are two photos of a possum. It also gives descriptions of the found cat, my favorite being "Not house broken either :(" I seriously crack up every time I look at it. Mouse and I encountered a possum tonight while we were sitting outside. It was dark out and I saw Mouse perk up, but didn't see anything. A minute later I see this possum come running up the yard and I swear it was going to run straight into us. I had a really good grip on the leash because I didn't know if Mouse would go after it or not. Surprisingly she didn't, she must have been admiring its cuteness like I was. One time when I lived in Kent, I was calling the dogs back in and Brooke wasn't coming. I went over to a window and called for her and she came running across the yard with a possum in her mouth! Ugh! I was so freaked out. I went over to the door hoping not to see a bloody possum, and luckily she had nothing with her. I went out to look for it, but didn't see it anywhere. I'm guessing it just played dead when it saw her and she was just carrying it around like a goofball. Poor possum.
Hey, I'm looking for some new friends, let me know if you know anyone with these interests:
- Bugs
- Bogs
- Bikes
- Birdwatching
- Curb Your Enthusiasm
Suppose I should try and get to sleep. Let me know if you want to get together soon. I feel like the summer is wasting away.
Ummm, life is still a roller coaster. And my computer is broken, so who knows when I'll be able to post any photos.
