The chip thief

I came home the other day and when I walked into my room I saw an empty bag of Tostitos sitting on my bed. It's been a long time since Mouse has gotten into anything, so I was kind of surprised. I was certainly surprised that there were NO chips left in the bag. The bag wasn't full, but it was definitely more than half full. That's a lot of Tostitos for anyone to eat!

I looked over at my desk where I had last seen the bag, and there were a few chips lying on the floor, in a place Mouse couldn't reach. Of course Mouse has been acting like nothing had happened the whole time. I pulled some of the remnant chips out and told her to come over and eat them. Why not, right? She cautiously walked over, sniffed the chips and turned around. I asked her a few more times to come and eat them and she just jumped up on the bed to lay down.

I knew she was just being a turd and pretending she had no interest in the chips. I walked out of my room, leaving the door slightly opened. I was standing outside the door for about 20 seconds when I heard her get down from the bed and walk towards the desk. And then a few seconds later I start hearing crunching. I started to open up the door and she came running over to greet me with a piece of chip stuck to her nose!

I don't even know what to think of this. She had to have known it was wrong to eat those chips, right? Otherwise she wouldn't have pretended to have no interest in them, and then to eat them all up when I left the room. It's also weird because after I'm done eating, I almost always put my plate or bowl on the floor for her to lick. It's not like I ever really taught her not to eat my food. Ha, she's such a booger. I imagine some dog owners would be mad at their dog for doing this, but I think it's hilarious. I'll never forget her little face in the doorway with a chip on her nose.
