so i am skipping my first class today. is this to be an example of how my semester is to go? is this complete lack of enthusiasm to be the tone of the next three months? lets wait and see. on to different things, the question of what i have been up to these past few days has yet to been answer, yet to have been ask for that matter. none the less, let me tell you. i attended a splendid artist lecture last Friday. the artist goes by his birth name micheal dee and while he does work in a variety of mediums his video work shines above the rest. his work, which for the most is 30 to 120 second loops, is monotonous yet rythmic. they remind me of good noise music and have the nature of being abrasive and invasive. such as the niagra falls piece which was a film of the falls projected over urinals. the bathroom in which the said urinals where in where public and the artist reported that men found it difficult to pee because the noise and the people who would come in to view the piece where watching them . i also had the joy of attending a showing of the movie little miss sunshine with my wife and dear friends amy and andy. it was funny and fulfilled my need to see an elder man doing crank, freakish creations know as children in a beauty pageant and a man being saved by porn. the leading roll played by a volkswagen van without first or second gear shined threw as a gem. i also read a short excerpt from a jean baudrillard essay on hyperreality and i am wondering how it ties in with guy debords critique of the society of the spectacle. hmmm, something to think about.

You have such horrific spelling and grammar that I simply refuse to read your entries ever again!

I frown upon your skipping of class the way others do upon my skipping of church. Boo!

Quotes from Kory during our conversation about skipping class:
"i am to tired to go to class i don't have anyhting to where and i don't really feel like doing this proposition right now nor do i have the time " [sic]
"i have skip class on the second day before it is tradition that i skip a class early" [sic]
"i am so not into school"

andy skipping a studio class is nothing like skipping a class that has a lecture. you don't really do anyhting and if there was a lecture it would only be about art which is just make believe anyways

Sorry, it is an old habit to defend the virtues of education.

I really enjoyed the movie as well. It still makes me laugh to think about it. Although I think I've had nightmares since then about the small girls in the beauty pageant. They really freaked me out.

it doesn't seem like you up date this very much anymore - if ever from what I can tell - but it was the only way I could think to get a hold of you - your painting page has been closed down and I don't have your # anymore. I'd like to get together, e-mail me or send me a myspace message if you don't have ideological diferences with myspace - cause I wouldn't want you to do something you weren't comfortable with. If you happen to get this before friday Kate and I are going to turnup to hear my friends noise rock/performance art band then on sat we are going to an art show in canton with work by one of our friends that does some nice paintings of a charictor he calls sad ugly, then on Sun we're leaving for Chicago for a week - so if you contact me in that period of time I'm not dissing you I'm just not home.
I hope to talk to you soon.
I miss you, man.
